Business Analyst / Technology Coordinator

Kurron Shares of America, Inc. is seeking a Business Analyst/Technology Coordinator to work out of the Columbus, Ohio office. Kurron is a management, consulting, and strategic advisory company specializing in transforming health care organizations and systems through operational and financial stabilization, revitalization, and program enhancement. Kurron currently operates out of offices in Washington, D.C., New York, NY, Columbus, OH, and Bermuda.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate for this position will provide programming, database design, analysis, computer support, and web services for the effective delivery of Kurron's products and services. The candidate will also support Web-enabled applications related to the firm's consulting, analytical, and data services as well as create advanced website designs using AJAX or other advanced methods. The successful candidate will establish and maintain the Columbus, Ohio office's local area network, including local server environment and web servers, and refine and streamline internal business processes using latest technologies. In addition, the candidate will gather, analyze, and interpret health care data and information. The successful candidate will be responsible for both quantitative and qualitative research and managing the organization of materials to support consulting projects. The candidate will process, analyze, interpret, and report on data from large data sets; export data queries to Excel spreadsheets; and compile reports, charts, and tables based on established statistical methods. The position will also require that the candidate process and analyze data from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, including hospital and skilled nursing facility Medicare cost reports, MEDPAR data sets, and Standard Analytical Files.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will hold a minimum of a Masters' degree in statistics/biostatistics, healthcare management, medical informatics, computer science, engineering, finance, economics, statistics, business administration, or related quantitative discipline. Kurron is also seeking candidates with a minimum of 2-5 years experience in a healthcare planning and decision support or healthcare consulting environment. Candidates should also have extensive experience in quantitative analysis, information technology management, database management, forecasting, planning, and healthcare modeling (econometric, statistical, mathematical, population based, etc.) as well as extensive experience with SAS or other statistical programming language and general large dataset management.

Candidates should additionally have experience in system, data, and web-based information security, as well as experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and Structured Query Language (SQL) is preferred. Candidates with experience with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) data sets, such as Medicare cost reports (HCRIS), MEDPAR, and Standard Analytical Files (SAF) are preferred, as are those with experience in web design and management. A 150 bed hospital in a small urban center.

Candidates should also be able to apply principles of logic and scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems, deal with nonverbal symbols (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.), apply mathematical operations to frequency distributions, reliability and validity tests, normal curves, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, etc. and should be able to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Candidates should finally be able to read, analyze, and interpret journal articles in information technology and computer programming. Excellent communication and customer service skills are also a necessity, as well as organization, prioritization, time management, and effective presentation and public speaking skills.


Senior Financial and Operational Consultant

Kurron Shares of America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial and Operational Consultant to work out of the Columbus, Ohio office. Kurron is a management, consulting, and strategic advisory company specializing in transforming health care organizations and systems through operational and financial stabilization, revitalization, and program enhancement. Kurron currently operates out of offices in Washington, D.C., New York, NY, Columbus, OH, and Bermuda.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate for this position will provide support services for the effective delivery of financial, budgeting, and auditing processes for Kurron's client hospitals. The candidate will also manage relationships with clients and provides quality services and products. The candidate will perform financial and operational analysis and manage large, multi-year, inter-disciplinary projects including human and other resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving as a point of contact for clients, as well as writing proposals, reports, and articles as necessary. The position will require that the candidate work with client hospitals' audit committees and operational and financial teams to execute audits, prepare reports, document and prepare flowcharts of all key processes that impact the financial results of the hospital or health system, and conduct business risk assessments. The candidate will also work in budgetary processes, operations forecasting, billing, and research and analysis. In addition, candidates will be involved in business plan development, the capture and presentation of clinical metrics, and the synthesizing of raw data into information for decision-making for operational improvement, innovation, and system optimization.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will hold a minimum of a Master's degree in health administration, business administration, finance, accounting, or other related field. Applicants with a Doctorate are encouraged to apply. Kurron is also seeking candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the United States health care sector in one or more of the following areas: health insurance, managed care, acute-care hospitals, health finance, or health accounting. Experience with budgeting and audited statements in a healthcare setting is desirable.

Candidates must have excellent analytical, numerical skills, and problem-solving skills, and they must be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.  Candidates should also be able to apply principles of logic and scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems, deal with nonverbal symbols (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.), apply mathematical operations to frequency distributions, reliability and validity tests, normal curves, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, etc. and should be able to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
